#Spain PM Pedro Sánchez condemned the breach on Friday speaking in Ceuta, describing the events as “a violation of Spain’s territorial integrity.”

The #wildfires threatening central #Spain & southwestern #France over the past 2 weeks may be small by American standards. In #Europe, though, they are tremendous. Some are the largest in their countries’ modern histories, raging in places not accustomed to fires of this scale: on the outskirts of Madrid, for instance, or near the ancient vineyards of Bordeaux.
“The fallout from the World Cup final between #Spain and #Argentina has spilled over into music.
In just a few days, the singer #Rosalía has seen a tribute concert to her work cancelled in Cordoba and calls grow for a boycott of her four upcoming concerts in Buenos Aires.
American artist Patti Smith has also ended up backtracking on a post about the match after receiving a wave of criticism.
Both singers have apologized to Argentina’s fans for the posts.”
“Although the total solar #eclipse on Aug. 12 will be total only from #Greenland, #Iceland and #Spain, both Europe and North America will see a partial eclipse.
The best views from North America will be in eastern #Canada and the northeastern U.S.
St. John’s, #Newfoundland and Labrador will see 53% of the sun covered, #Halifax 31%, Saint John 28%, #Montreal & #Québec City 24%, #Boston 16% and New York 10%.”
