Since the…attack on #Iran on Feb 28, Europe has become concerned that the #Trump admin is rapidly using up its existing munitions, delaying their own orders & disrupting deliveries of US systems to Ukraine….

…Kyiv’s chief #Europe backers have taken the lead on funding & arming #Ukraine forces since #Trump took office. The #PURL initiative, brokered last year by #NATO, offered a work-around for Ukraine to keep getting #US weaponry, so long as the Europeans pay the bill. Lots of great stuff in "Forest Diplomacy: Bridging Science, Governance and Conservation" this morning, but one tidbit was this history. Apparently people fought very hard to get forests included by name in the Paris Agreement. They were not initially in there and it was not an easy fight to get them in.

As the #war in #Ukraine enters its fifth year, some Ukrainian families who initially fled the country are bringing their children back from #Europe despite ongoing Russian attacks, even on cities far from the front line. They are returning despite the fact that the #EU continues to provide temporary protection for millions of Ukrainians.

Lev and his mother were forced to leave #Ukraine soon after the full-scale invasion began, leaving his father and the rest of the family behind. They lived in #Europe for two years, hoping the war would end soon so they could return home.
