But the entries included personal observations in which Dr. Fauci marveled at his fame & relationships with celebrities, further inflaming a partisan political battle. [it had to be surreal for him]

@Nonilex Dr. Fauci was in an impossible situation as a physician and scientist who worked in a regime led by an uneducated dullard who did not believe in science.
Fauci persevered. Fauci saved lives. He is, and will be, remembered as a hero.

Early in the hearing, #RandPaul warned that there would be “repercussions” for Dr. Fauci’s refusal to testify, & then ordered the REMOVAL of his lawyer‼️, David Schertler, when he tried to speak up on his client’s behalf. The hearing, unusual even by the #Senate’s recent hyperpartisan standards, also featured #ConspiracyTheories & personal attacks, with #Republicans taunting Dr. #Fauci as a megalomaniac & a liar.

Dr. #Fauci & Mr. Paul have been tangling with one another for years. In 2021, when the senator accused Dr. Fauci of lying while testifying before the #Senate, Dr. Fauci replied, “If anybody is lying here, senator, it is you.”
