The Breskens lighthouse is the oldest surviving cast-iron lighthouse in the Netherlands. The shaft is painted with black and white bands. It stands prominently on the left side of the horizon line, where the land meets the sea.
An asphalt dike path dominates the lower half of the frame, leading the viewer's eye directly toward the lighthouse. A solid blue painted line runs down the left-middle side of the path.
To the right of the path, the terrain transitions into a wide, sandy beach. In the background, wooden wave-breakers extend into the calm, flat sea.
