One for 'Yorkshire Day' – if you like vintage traction engines then this weekend sees the Whitby Traction Engine Rally underway in the historic Yorkshire coastal town of Whitby, with today's event underway on 'Yorkshire Day'.
Must admit, I like how the organisers describe the location being "... only a 15-minute walk from the town centre and harbour", forgetting to mention the strenuous climb up the infamous 199 steps to the abbey!
I visited a couple of years ago and was genuinely amazed at the size of the event, where I spotted this traction engine from my own neck of the woods in Sunderland and Houghton-le-Spring.
