Yup Military Keynesianism is going to be at the centre of Andy Burnham's defence policy, and he rocking up in Barrow-in-Furness to make that clear....
Its yet one more continuity with the previous Govt. which was also very keen to claim investment in defence had a major positive impact on the UK's economy (through employment & local procurement), but which failed to convince on contact with the reality of imported arms & military technology.

@ChrisMayLA6 And we cannot fire them without American [i.e. foreign] support. Trident is American built and only America can do any engineering or fixing of Trident.
It shows the absolute vassal state status of UK, where the #uk is completely dependent on a foreign country [America], to have any working nuclear weapons. And of course, it's a financial black hole, just more money shipped across the Atlantic to satisfy our American corporate overlords.
