Microsoft: Use the web versions of our Office apps! They're great!
Me: So how do I create a new document based on my employer's .dotx template?
Microsoft: Oh, that's easy, you download it from SharePoint to your computer, use the desktop version of Word to create a new document from the template, upload that new document to OneDrive, then you can edit it in Word for the Web.
Me: So use LibreOffice. Got it.
