@ChrisMayLA6 I am watching closely for signs that it's too late even for "Keynesian" measures, that the carbon budget was used up before we could even have a transition. If we need to burn coal to manufacture green tech, maybe we're be better off with no tech. Transition to abstinence instead.

@ChrisMayLA6 we can call it military Keynesianism if we say that a distributed, renewable powered grid connected to well insulated homes and energy efficient agriculture were necessary for defense of the nations.

I wish some politicians would go for that idea.

People may believe that "the recent heatwaves across the country are caused by climate change", but how many of then will do (or stop doing) what it takes to change anything, or make anything better?

Our greed addicts us to self-destruction. We will die, and kill everything around us, before we give up our lives of luxury...

@ChrisMayLA6 This is a great example of an issue where actually people are not entitled to their view. Well - not unless they have actually done the hard yards of studying the subject objectively.

While it is clearly of interest what people believe on key subjects like this, I think it's always worth pointing out that unless they are qualified, they really ought to just follow what the actual experts say and give up their own opinions.

Same is true incidentally, on the question of whether there is a genocide happening in #Gaza (hint: the human rights experts are crystal clear and unanimous...): it's another subject where individual's opinions are worse than useless.

@ChrisMayLA6 I've often said that if I were in the UK, I would almost certainly be voting Green or LibDem, and this chary makes me happy to be in good company, except for my age cohort (50-64).

Anthropogenic (human made) climate change is real and we are experiencing it right now. Most people as you say accept this.

A just transition or strategic adaptation is urgently needed. It requires a genuine reckoning that the ultra rich Epstein class are the biggest polluters and are burning through ‘our’ supposed ‘carbon budgets’ at a horrific rate.

Meaningfully addressing #ClimateChange requires revolution.
