I'll forgive Andy Burnham quite a lot if he actually does, in the next couple of years, manage to build a consensus to establish a fairer, more just & more humane social care system in England.
It a massive job, but if he does it, it may well be the most consequential thing he can do for the future of this country.
That said, it doesn't give him a total free pass on other issues.... but social care can (and will?) be his signature success of he pulls it off!

@ChrisMayLA6 do you really think the man who aligned with the US and Israel against the will of the people he is expected to represent will not align with corporate interests?
I personally think the "reform" will be more privatization, more toothless poor people and more of the middle class trying to jump away and bragging about their expensive healthcare plan.
Well, the proof will be in what he *actually* does.... but I cannot easily dismiss your argument, and so we'll find out soon enough whether he actually does manage it
@ChrisMayLA6 The UK is in the position right now of potentially being able to establish global political leadership for a new era, given the gigantic sucking sound that is the power vacuum created in Washington by the Trump regime.
I would like to see the new government establish once and for all complete and accurate land ownership records of the UK, and institute a land value tax based upon the value thereof.
It would be a beacon to the world unlike any that has ever come before.
Sadly, I don't think we are in that position - we have pissed in our chips sufficiently that our global profile (and material conditions) do not allow for the attempt to regain a leadership that has been thrown away so wilfully.
