@Nonilex Probably the #1 detrimental effect computerized voting systems have is that some machines do malfunction, and when that happens there are fewer operational booths resulting in longer lines.

Particular precincts could be sabotaged simply by provisioning marginal or malfunctioning equipment.

But are there actually elections in the US that use human counting? The perception the entire world has about the US is that everything has been machine counting at least since the 2000 election. Are you saying that isn't true?

Audits & recounts are usually hand counted. But in the US the Constitution says that individual states are responsible for their elections which means it varies by state.

The report, produced by the #ODNI [oh boy, that’s now #BillPulte], concludes that #VotingMachines could be further safeguarded by, for example, updating their software, the sources said. It does NOT say the vulnerabilities have led to votes flipping, but examines security gaps in how the machines are used during #US #elections.
