I don't think it's about fun as much as survival for him.

As a social media influencer and their ancestor the reality show star his one talent used to be at least seeming like he was having fun despite being a bastard.
It's a power fantasy. Most people don't enjoy doing things like firing people. It's unpleasant, stressful. But, Donnie could seem to thrive in a ugly system and I think people liked that.
That's gone. I hope it makes it easier for people to stop being his little stans.

Yeah, unfortunately he had to be put into a position where he could fail catastrophically to break that illusion. His first term, there was blame to go around for the "establishment" Republicans who kept him in check. Now there's really no one else he can blame.

@futurebird I think this fits a pattern I've seen where they have him in the damage control phase so the people who stick their heads in the sand can use their weaponized obliviousness to vote for maga/blue maga politicians while maintaining the ability to pretend they "didn't know" he said that and thinking he "fixed" the gas prides (that they also pretend they are ignorant about him breaking in the first place).

Maybe someone has been able to wedge it into his thick skull that if Congress somehow makes it legal for him to run for a third term, then Barack could run also.

@futurebird He certainly is, now. His Operation Epstein Fury was an unmitigated disaster.
He's trying to manipulate the elections in such a way that those eventually elected will owe him. He thinks it will keep him safe from being prosecuted for his crimes and misdemeanours once out of office.
I've news for you, Donald: only the grave will keep you safe. Preferably one on a disused golf course somewhere.

@PeterLG @futurebird I think it's more compulsion than plan. That man ain't gonna survive long enough to be sentenced.
Although I'm pretty sure he ain't the one running things anymore either (not that he ever fully was) so maybe it's the minions trying for their own protective favors...we'll see if that works for them...
