#Canada’s courts can’t save the Charter from politics. Canadians can. By Max Fawcett

“As criminal & constitutional lawyer Nader Hasan wrote in a recent op-ed, “constitutional rights are not supposed to be optional.

Their purpose is to protect the people from govt abuse & overreach.

Putting the govt in charge of deciding when rights get to be overridden is asking the fox to guard the henhouse.”

Canada's National Observer

The courts can’t save the Charter from politics. Canadians can.
