馃毉 No Smoking. This sign caught my eye while exploring the changing rooms of an abandoned coal miners' changing room. The colours, the crispy peeling paint, and the brick textures combine with the old sign in its rotting frame.

I like that the sign looks like it will outlast the building. Clearly whoever made it had high hopes for the longevity of the mine.

Aye, I don't think a few cigarettes would have made much difference. Guess it was more fire prevention though
@ObsidianUrbex Yep, lot of methane and coal dust in those mines. Wish they had provided more protection from the coal dust.

My grandad died of emphysema, he worked in the Welsh coal mines 馃挋
@ObsidianUrbex Sorry to hear that. Underground coal mining and coal mines are both pretty dangerous.
