The thing that helps make a TV programme great is when its not quite like anything you've seen before.... and having now watched the whole series of Ann Dorid, it is that thing.
It balances both humour & compassion about loneliness in old age, and the fickleness of families; Its a comedy tour-de-force with a real understanding of the plight of those in their latter years.
I cannot recommend it highly enough - just brilliant!
