Machines called Bertrams Beaters line this long hall. These pale blue and beige machines would macerate and break up the pulp fibres. Inside the now demolished Robert Fletcher & Sons Paper Mill, England.

📽️ The Grand, Southport. Now a beautiful restaurant and cocktail bar. I explored the site before the renovations, when it had stood abandoned for around 20 years.
Originally built as a 1920s vehicle showroom, it was transformed in the 1930s into a lavish cinema. It then operated as a bingo hall and later a casino, but this closed in the 2000s.

🤠 #Westworld vibes! A surreal piece of Americana in Japan,an abandoned theme park filled with animatronic cowboys.
Built on a dream in the 1970s, the attraction evolved from a horse ranch into a million-visitor attraction. The opening of juggernauts like Tokyo DisneySea and Universal Studios Japan in the mid-2000s signalled the end.

Robert Fletcher & Sons Paper Mill was an abandoned relic of Manchester's industrial history, a part of the Oldham landscape for over 100 years. It was demolished a few years ago.

Manicomio di R is a sprawling neuropsychiatric hospital, Italy
These historical ruins are a sombre chapter in the story of the evolution of mental health care. Opened in the 1870s on the site of a former military college, it originally served as a "madhouse" (a derogatory term of the era that reflects the blunt, often harsh medical attitudes of the mental health conditions in the 19th century).
