Corporate PR pretending to talk about “open‑source misconceptions”,
while carefully avoiding the only three that actually matter:
1) “Open” doesn’t mean “free”.
It often means “free marketing until the business model changes”.
2) “Community‑driven” doesn’t mean “the community decides”.
It means “the community does unpaid QA while the company decides”.
3) “Open‑source” doesn’t automatically mean ethical.
Some projects respect users. Others use “open” as a shield to look friendly.
If you want to know whether something is truly open‑source,
don’t look at the license.
Look at the incentives.
