Professor teaching GenBio, Marine Biology, Oceanography, Microbiology, and Zoology at a Community College.

My research speciality is marine microbiology, focusing on harmful algal bloom ecology. I still manage a HAB monitoring citizen science project in SoCal, but my day to day life is currently devoted to working on increasing STEM student success with active learning pedagogy.
