Today in history:
Hitler awards the Grand Cross of the Supreme Order of the German Eagle to Henry Ford, the highest Nazi decoration ever given to a foreigner.
The medal was presented by two officials from the German Consulates in Cleveland and Detroit.
"I consider Henry Ford my inspiration, I revere him. I will do everything possible to put Ford's racial theories into practice in Germany."
