Our neighbour made this new flower bed from scratch last autumn. It was grass before. The garden wall is behind it. He put the rocks along the front then banked the earth up the wall. Then he planted it up almost all with things he'd grown and, 6 months later, it looks like its been there years. It will be a riot of colour soon, its all perennials.
