From May to August last year, Corpus Christi's #Bitcoin mine consumed 11,563,000 gallons of water, according to utility records that the Observer previously obtained via a local resident’s public information request.

Now the city is refusing to share the latest data. https://www.texasobserver.org/corpus-christi-cryptomine-water-usage-secret/

The City of Corpus Christi is Keeping a Cryptomine's Water Usage Secret

The city declined to supply public records on the mine’s water usage, citing a state law that allows nondisclosure of an individual customer’s account.

@TexasObserver
that is about 3 million gallons a month
or roughly 0.1 million gallons/day

is that number, with no context, a lot or a little ?

so far as I can tell, the city supplies about 90 million gallons a day

so the BC is using way way less then 1% of the water

is that a lot or a little ?
hard to say

now it is true there is a drought
but still
